Laser Metal Fusion (LMF) technology allows for fast and effective 3D printing of functional metal parts.


Laser Metal Fusion is capable of generating fully functional metal prototypes and production parts using SISMA 3D metal printers. It uses a variety of alloys which allow the prototype to be made from the same material as production components. By utilizing a laser and aiming it at a bed of metallic powder, it transforms the powder into a solid part. Parts are built up additively layer by layer to form strong, durable metal products that work well both as functional prototypes or end-use production parts.


As such, applying LMF metal 3D printing technology through the SISMA Additive Manufacturing Systems can quickly produce a unique part in a matter of hours with no special tooling required like in traditional manufacturing processes.

Furthermore, it is possible to design internal features that could not be previously cast or machined, allowing assemblies with multiple components to be simplified into fewer parts with a more cost-effective assembly. Industries that are increasingly using this technology include the aerospace, manufacturing, and medical industries.
