SLM 125

Versatile Selective Laser Melting

The smallest machine in the SLM Solutions’ lineup, the SLM® 125 packs many of the top-quality features of the larger models in a compact footprint. The machine utilises an optimised gas filtration process with an adjustable gas flow system and optimal process properties with minimised gas consumption.

High Power Laser in a Compact Footprint for Flexible Manufacturing

The SLM® 125 build envelope is up to 160% larger than other machines and is designed for cost-efficient process developments and small-to-medium manufacturing of high-quality, fully-dense metal parts.

The machine utilises an optimised gas filtration process with an adjustable gas flow, allowing for optimal process properties and minimised gas consumption.

Both reactive and non-reactive metals can be processed using the standard SLM®125 configuration. Thanks to its compact design with a small number of powder-transporting components, materials can be changed quickly and easily.

Description

Adaptable and Robust for a Wide Range of Users

The SLM® 125 is recommended for a variety of users looking to do rapid prototyping, low-volume manufacturing, qualified series productions as well as the field of Research & Development.

KEY FEATURES
Small Machine, Big Results

The smallest machine in the SLM Solutions’ lineup, the SLM® 125 includes many of the top-quality features of the larger platforms within a compact footprint. The substrate plate can be pre-heated to up to 200⁰C and the standard 400W fiber laser is the highest power offered by small machines to replicate production settings with up to 80% less metal powder, compared to other systems.

Software

A Support-Free Revolution

SLM Solutions launches the Free Float software solution. The addition of this latest technology to the brand’s offering allows for the creation of metal components with previously impossible designs, hence reducing the overall material usage and reducing end-part costs while achieving industrial-scale productions. This first-of-its-kind technology also allows for the printing of retrofittable 3D metal parts.

Benefits of Free Float

  • Reduce duration for post-processings
  • Overhang areas without structures
  • Reduces powder usage – more savings
  • Creates more build space – more room to build
  • Results in less scrap
  • Enables major reduction of internal part stress
