Fathom is a California-based product development company with their very own Objet Connex500 and Eden260 3D printers.Just a few days ago they very kindly shared with us a great story about a project called ‘Back to the Roots’. Founded by two graduates, Alejandro Velez & Nikhil Arora, the project has developed a home farming aquaponics system. Essentially, they’ve created a very domesticated self-cleaning fish tank that has the added benefit of growing food fit for us humans to eat!The entire tank and hood of the system was prototoyped on the Objet Connex multi-material 3D printer using theVeroClear transparent material for the aquarium body and the VeroWhitePlus material for the hood.Take a look at the video below for the full story as told by Alejandro and Nikhil themselves (in the second half of the film):
