Desktop Metal announces acquisition of ExOne in $575 million deal
Desktop Metal has announced that they have a definite agreement to acquire ExOne, a pioneer and global leader in binder jet 3D printing technology, in a $575 million deal.
Ric Fulop, CEO of Desktop Metal, stated in the 11 August announcement that the deal is a big step in delivering on the company’s shared vision of accelerating the adoption of additive manufacturing 2.0, and is thrilled to be bringing ExOne on board to create the leading additive manufacturing portfolio for mass production.
The addition of ExOne to Desktop Metal’s burgeoning portfolio means businesses of all sizes can optimize their production based on their specific application needs while being able to drive new application discovery with increased materials innovations.
