Additive Manufacturing Seminar- Concept. Design. Manufacture
Learning how to stay ahead of the competition through increased productivity and efficiency of work procedures was the focal point of discussion at the ‘Additive Manufacturing seminar- Concept. Design. Manufacture’ on 20th August. Jointly organized by Creatz3D, e2i and ATE, the seminar was an opportunity for participants to find out more about the impact of 3D Printing/Additive Manufacturing on the design and manufacturing process and how it can assist them in the implementation of a smoother work process.
As one of the co-organizers and speakers, Creatz3D shared our knowledge about the various 3D Printing Technologies offered as well as provided an in-depth explanation about their specific characteristics and capabilities. In addition, attendees were also able to have a closer look at various 3D Printing applications through the array of 3D Printed samples and models displayed at our booth, hence allowing them to get a better understanding along with a complete sensory experience.
Aside from that, participants were also able to enjoy live demonstrations by both Creatz3D and ATE. Through the demonstrations, participants were able to learn more about the 3D Model design and 3D Printing process and how it can be used to expedite the prototyping process. One example that was prominently featured in the demonstration was the handphone/cellphone holding Fixture.
Co-produced and designed by Creatz3D and ATE, the handphone/cellphone holding Fixture was specifically customized for iPhone 6 Plus and showcased how 3D Printing Technology can facilitate the control and testing process. Unlike traditional manufacturing methods, 3D Printing Technology enables the incorporation of a locking mechanism with internal channels and grooves, thus allowing the fixture to hold the cellphone in place and prevent shifting. To top it off, the toggle clamps and base mold of the cellphone fixture are interchangeable which would then enable cellphone manufacturers to switch and replace these parts accordingly based on the cellphone model and type. Â As such, through the use of this Fixture, cellphone manufacturers are able to conduct life cycle testing or drop tests efficiently and easily, hence leading to time savings and reduced time to market.
Last but not least, the seminar also gave attendees a chance to interact with our technical support and relevant staff and address any concerns they had towards our 3D Printers, hence allowing them to make more informed decisions about which would be more suited to their needs. With the presence of our Objet30 Pro on-site, attendees could experience the 3D Printing process first hand and gauge the feasibility of their intended prototypes or end parts based on its mechanics.
